East Kilbride Rotary Club have two internal golf competitions. These are played for on an annual basis. The James Taylor Salver was presented to the Club in 1965 by the Rotarian James Taylor who was the professional golfer at East Kilbride Golf Course.  The Rhu Trophy was gifted to the Club by Rotarian John Sergeant who was a solicitor in the town.

Eleven club members of East Kilbride Rotary Club took advantage of some rare glorious sunshine to compete for the 2011 Jimmy Taylor Salver at East Kilbride Golf Club. They were joined by three guest players from the golf club, but despite ideal conditions, not even their local knowledge led to good scoring, although the competition was close.


On the 2nd July 2011 East Kilbride Rotary Club were represented by David Brown, George McGraw & Jim Moretti at the Rotary Club of Stranraer's AM/AM golf tournament further details to follow as they become available.
The winner of the Salver was David Brown ( see picture below) and he was handed his prize by Club President Roddy Shanks at a presentation dinner hosted by John and Janette McKie in Cooks Steakhouse. Prizes were also presented to runners up Ian Macpherson and Jim Moretti.
The Rhu Trophy was played for at Cathkin Golf course on Thursday 18th Aug 2011 when the following players competed Liam Donnelly, Ian Wiseman, George McGraw, Jim Moretti,George Gunn and Andrew Ferguson in a Stableford competition in poor weather conditions the competition was won by Jim Moretti with a score of 36 and our runner up this year was Liam Donnelly with a score of 34

Here we have pictures of the golf competitors at the 10th Hole in what was our AM/AM tournament, held on the 7th of October 2011 at Nerston Golf course home of East Kilbride Golf Club, to whom we are deeply indebted too for providing their facilities to enable the club to raise funds towards East Kilbride Dementia Care  group at Pine Crescent and Toys for Kids. Principle Club Rotarians who put it all together were Past Presidents Jim Moretti and John Cardno & Junior Vice David Brown


Weather conditions for the 2012 James Taylor Salver were dreadful and the game had to be rescheduled to another date. The Competition was held on 31 May 2012. Seven Rotarians took part. Jim Moretti and Archie King both had 33 Stableford points but Jim won with the better score on the inward half. Liam was third with 30 points. Meal held at East Kilbride Golf Course and President Leslie  presented the prizes.

First Round of District Games challenge took place on during the month of May 2012 between the clubs with East Kilbride coming out winners. Hospitallity provided by Cummnock was suberb
